Shock: ★★★★✩Shock is the main song in this EP and the best song in it. The start or intro sung by YoSeop leads up to the fast tempoed first verse sung by the BEASTs leader Jun Hyung. The song is very catchy and leaves your head bobbing to it at the end. This song has a few English phrases which are easy to remember making the song memorable. The BEST part of the song was the chorus. Before they start singing, they leave a little pause and every time it gets up to that part it always leaves me suspenseful in a way. No other band can sing this song the way BEAST does. Their voices is what makes Shock....... shocking. Probably my least favourite part of the song is the third verse. Normally the third verse is the most different part of the song and it was. However, no matter how different it was, it suited it in a way.

To start of the song, it has these techno beats and then Jun Hyung introduces the song but to me it was not needed. But after, that the rest of the group follows by increasing their volume which was affective in capturing my interest. This song also has a lot of English phrases making it easy to sing along to. The verses and chorus' have the same kind of background beat making it a bit repetitive resulting in a little bit of a bore. But, their voices are like straining and yelly in the chorus so it still keeps you wanting to here more. The chorus was also the best part of the song, easy to remember and catchy.
Take Care of My Girlfriend (Say No) (내 여자친구를 부탁해): ★★★
Not my most favourite song in this album. To me it is kind of boring and slow. Unlike the previous songs, it doesn't have a lot of memorable lines. Although, you can still bob your head and tap your foot to this song. Say No, as it is mostly known as, was the most sung line in the song. Without noticing the song goes by so fast, which means it doesn't capture you attention like the other songs do. Take Care of My Girlfriend is very sweet for a title but in my opinion it the title does not suit the song. There was nothing I particularlky like about the song, but nothing i really disliked.
Easy: ★★★Easy is the slowest song in the mini album. It doesnt really have any bam elements in this song. Everything stays pretty composed, constant and easy going. The best part of the song would have to be the end of the third chorus when there was rapping and there was a slight pause then afterwards voices got louder making a change and to emphasise the song. More echoing and extra work was being added in the background which positively effected the song. Nearing the end of the song, suddenly change in softness showed and signalled to us the end of the song. However, i don't feel anything while listening to the song, but it is still a good one to listen to once in a while.
Summary:Shock of the New Era is a good album to listen to. Its full of hard core beats like Shock and Special and also some slow and steady like Say No and Easy. You will be able to listen to it anytime of the day, wherever you are. Shock is the song you'll most likely be wanting to hear more of. To be honest, I only listen to the whole album when i'm bored.
